Bellevue’s Recipient Service.
The gold standard in surrogacy.

Our Recipient Service is the core of what we do at Bellevue Enterprises.

Using our carefully-selected dry stock as recipients, embryo transfer takes place at our purpose-built facilities.

With the lab in direct proximity to our farms, fresh embryo transfer is one key factor in boosting hold rates and the number of live calves on the ground.

Others include the quality of our well-fed, unstressed dry stock surrogates, plus our specialised expertise and processes developed over the years.

Typically, using the Bellevue Recipient Service results in 61% more live calves* than on-farm processes with frozen embryos, at 6% lower cost per live calf**.

And the benefits don’t stop there. There’s less impact on your herd and your farming, as well as genetic improvement to look forward to. We also offer a choice of Recipient or Calf contract to suit your needs and budget.

*Latest season’s results: fresh embryos implanted at Bellevue versus on-farm frozen embryo outcomes. Bellevue has a 17% better fresh embryo hold rate and 31% better frozen hold rate
**Calculated from more live calves at Bellevue than on-farm, decreased value of additional empty cows on farm, additional travel and visit costs by vets.

“We are dairy farmers on a 500 cow farm in the King County at Pio Pio, an hour south of Te Awamutu. About 6 years ago we had our first contract mating and that was a really big buzz.  I guess it was a natural progression and curiosity that started it for us. Some really great stock agents along the way introduced us to a few great breeders and picking their brains that's where we learned about doing embryo work.
We bought a couple of elite yearling heifers from a pretty prestigious sale last autumn.  Because they were autumn born it allowed us to do work on them straight away. The reason we used Bellevue Recipients was because we live too far away to put fresh embryos in here, we didn’t have our own recipients available for the weekly sessions, and we wanted to put embryos in fresh thus better hold rates (which were REALLY good). It was super easy, it was all done up there and we didn’t have to do anything. We were very impressed and happy with the service, the communication and the overall experience.”
